Now Tories bend to UKIP wind farm policy
However Roger Helmer MEP, energy spokesman for UKIP warned that "we need more than airy statements. We need action".
"It is a simple fact that due to EU climate legislation the Government is committed to honouring the thousands of wind farm applications that are already in process. The Minister has failed to demonstrate that he truly recognises the significant burden to the public purse of pursuing this highly inefficient and ineffective technology.
"It is political posturing in an attempt to win over concerned voters in the Shires. He is merely giving lip service to people with genuine concerns about wind farms in a bid to maintain the Tory hold in many rural counties."
Mr Helmer continued, "It is a step in the right direction, but only a step. He will have to get any proposal through his Liberal Democrat Secretary of State Ed Davey, who has already made it clear he does not agree. He will have to force through a change, not only to UK legislation but to the influence EU climate targets have on policy in Britain. UKIP wishes him luck in his endeavours".
