Diamond Jubilee message from UKIP

Saturday, 2nd June 2012 As the nation takes a break and celebrates the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this long weekend, UKIP Leader Nigel Farage made the following statement: "Many congratulations to Her Majesty for her Diamond Jubilee and I hope everyone in the UK and throughout the Commonwealth has a wonderful and politics-free weekend. "The Queen is a great symbol of our country who came to the throne at an age of upheaval yet throughout her reign has been a solid and dependable figurehead. The UK Independence Party is the fastest growing political party in the United Kingdom.

Originally founded as a single issue party, the withdrawal from a political, federal European Union, UKIP is now a broad based political force in British politics at local and national level.

UKIP's policies are resonating with people in all walks of life and from a broad spectrum of centerist political thinking. We are a party of the people for the people and do not seek to represent a particular class, grouping or vested interest. Rather we wish to present policies and govern in a way that represents the best interests of the majority of the people in this country.

In the 2009 European national elections UKIP were the second placed party overall in terms of votes, this success has catapulted the Party into the mainstream of political life.

Membership of the party is growing at a phenomenal rate, especially amongst the 18-35 age group with a very active Young Independence grouping within the party. New branches are opening all over the country to cater for the influx of new members.

As well as the impact on European and national politics UKIP has made significant gains over recent months with county, unitary, and borough councillors winning seats in England and Wales.
